Hi folks,
Please DO take a good re-look at the Quay Brothers' The Street of Crocodiles film; if it helps, you can look up some info on Bruno Schulz (the Polish author of the short story that the Quays use as reference material for this) and you're more than welcome to also read the story/look at info about the film itself. But again, this is experimental art, and as such, I'd love for you to watch it for your emotional reaction and impressions more than for your understanding of plot/idea. The Quays work in a kind of dreamscape at all times that critics have often linked to ideas of the unconscious or the sublime. Try treating them with this in mind.
